Nancy L. Sperry, APRN-FNP-C, MPH, AHN-BC, BSN, RN brings over 37 years of clinical experience to Granite GRC Consulting. As Senior Consultant, Nancy assists with mitigation efforts on behalf of the Granite GRC’s clients, helping them reduce the risk of lawsuits, and provides support through healthcare management and quality initiatives.
Nancy is certified as a licensed advanced practice nurse, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner, and is a licensed RN. She started her career at Johns Hopkins Hospital as a Staff Nurse-Adult Critical Care. Over the past 32 years, she has held numerous positions at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center including Family Nurse Practitioner – Fishburn Medical Clinic; Nursing Quality Specialist Children’s Hospital — Pediatric Intensive Care and Intermediate Care Units; Nurse Clinician IV, Editor, and Charge Nurse – Adult Critical Care; and Research Nurse – Gastroenterology.
Nancy received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University of PA. She later went on to obtain a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Master of Science- Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner from Georgetown University.
Nancy has co-authored publications in Intensive and Critical Care Nursing, International Journal of Emergency Mental Health, and The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Public Health Association, and American Holistic Nurses Association.
Nancy enjoys lending her expertise to the surrounding communities. In 1990, she founded and served as President of Coping Kids, Inc., a non-profit organization for children coping with the serious illness of a family member. This organization is now a part of Hospice and Community Care. She participated in Appalachian Experiential Learning Immersion Trip in Charleston, WV, where she partnered with non-profit community resources and engaged in interdisciplinary community collaboration to improve health outcomes for individuals, families, and communities in crisis. Nancy has also served as a volunteer farmer and community educator.
