Clivetty Martinez, Ph.D., CCEP, CHC, MOT, is an internationally recognized, seasoned professional with global compliance and privacy experience in the healthcare, life sciences and consumer products industries. She has designed, built, developed, and led global compliance and privacy programs at several multinational companies across the pharmaceutical, consumer products, medical device, lab services and animal health industries. She has held several positions of increasing responsibilities up to and including Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer in national and global companies including Johnson & Johnson, Myriad Genetics, Akorn Pharmaceuticals, Perrigo, and Wyeth.
As a recognized leader, author, and speaker, Dr. Martinez appears as a featured speaker at major conferences on a regular basis. In addition to being a pioneer in compliance, Dr. Martinez:
- Founded and was the first President of the Latin American Ethics and Compliance Network
- Developed and was master of ceremonies of the first ever International Compliance & Ethics Conference in Latin America
- Developed the first ever Compliance Certification Executive Education program for LATAM officers in partnership with the University of Miami
- Co-authored the original APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Business Ethics Principles
Dr. Martinez earned her Ph.D. in International Health Studies, master’s degree in occupational therapy, bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in education, and studied two years of pre-law at Cornell University. Additionally, Dr. Martinez has earned numerous certifications in compliance, including Health Care Compliance certification from Seton Hall University, Leadership in Compliance certification from INSEAD University in France, and CCEP certification from the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics. In 2010, noting a lack of Certification programs in Latin America, Dr. Martinez partnered with the University of Miami to develop the first executive education Certification in Compliance for compliance professionals working in Latin America. Dr. Martinez received a certificate of appreciation from the University of Miami School of Business Administration for outstanding performance and lasting contributions in development of their Program. She has been interviewed by Miami Business magazine on her impressive work with the University of Miami. Dr. Martinez currently serves as an adjunct professor in the program and a board member for the Business Ethics program.

In 2013, she received an award for outstanding leadership from The International Women’s Leadership Association. Named a Top Female Executive by Worldwide Branding, Dr. Martinez is a member of The International Women’s Leadership Association and a Distinguished Delegate honored for continued contribution to the field of International Health. She is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Occupational Therapy Association and the American Business Women Association. In 2022, she was selected as Top 25 Women We Admire in Salt Lake City.
