LANCASTER, Pa., February 17, 2021 – Granite GRC Consulting has announced the addition of Sheri Poe Bernard, a nationally recognized author and business consultant in health care reimbursement. She will serve as a Senior Consultant, advising health care providers on all aspects of revenue cycle management with a focus on risk adjustment strategies, documentation and coding.
Poe Bernard has been writing, editing and educating at the forefront of medical coding for over 25 years, providing insightful consulting services and dynamic and calibrated training presentations to clients and audiences across the country. Among other roles she served for eight years on the American Academy of Professional Coding’s Advisory Board, most years as a member of its leadership team. As such, she is an in-demand speaker at national conferences, with audiences ranging from coders to physicians to government regulators. In addition to these accomplishments Bernard is the author of Netter’s Atlas of Surgical Anatomy for CPT Coding, published by the American Medical Association in 2015, as well as the best-selling Medicare Advantage guidebook, Risk Adjustment Documentation and Coding, first published by the American Medical Association in 2018. The second edition was released in 2020.

Poe Bernard began her career in field of medical coding at a small medical publisher, rising to the role of senior director of content development and product management. She has also served as the Vice President of Training and Certification at American Academy of Professional Coders, and the Vice President of Quality and training at a production-based risk-adjustment coding start-up company. For the last decade she has worked as a business consultant helping clients solve their diverse set of coding and reimbursement issues. Bernard joins a team of experts and consultants whose clients thrive in the complex and changing healthcare environment.
